Raising Confident & Capable Kids:

Exploring Friendship and Conflict

for parents of kids age 6+

Parent Workshop Hosted by Tara Gratto M.S.Ed., MA, OCT

Bullying, mean and unkind peers. A workshop to support you with raising your child to be a better friend to themselves and others

We will explore how conflict can come out as mean, unkind or ultimately bullying behaviours and how to to teach children to self-advocate and when to seek adult interventions.

This is for parents & caring adults who are:

  •  Struggling with how to react and support conflict
  •  Wonder: Is this normal? Are kids meaner?
  •  Worried about 'mean girls'
  •  Wanting to know when a situation requires adult involvement and when it does not
  • Would like to create friendships built on connection, boundaries and mutual respect

Supporting strong friendships relies on building social emotional skills to effectively navigate conflict without compromising self-worth.

What Parents Say About My Workshops

"I always learn so much from you. You have this way of tackling really hard topics without judgement or shame."

"I love that you show me there's nothing wrong with me or my intuition. I'm not a failure as a mother. I just never learned this stuff and it's not as simple as just knowing it."

Hello hello! I'm Tara, a Parent Educator and Consultant.

I bring to this role over 20 years of experience working with children and families in a variety of settings and countries.

A little peek inside my experience:

  • Worked in classrooms, guidance, administration, and for 7.5 years as a  preschool owner
  • Hold two Masters degrees and professional teaching designation with a special interest in social emotional intelligence and empathy (all those big feelings and kindness)
  • The parent of two amazing and distinctly unique middle schoolers
  • Wrote a picture book to support parents, educators and caring adults with building tools and skills for emotional regulation

My goal is to support you with practical strategies and frameworks that will manage the overwhelm while fostering essential life skills with your children.
